Indigenous-led development of Australia’s future fuel supply

Acknowledgement

New Era Energy acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters and community. The feedstocks behind low carbon liquid fuels are grown, harvested and recovered from lands and waters cared for by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for tens of thousands of years. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We are New Era Energy

New Era Energy is an Indigenous-led energy venture focused on developing the foundations for future fuels in Australia.

We are the world’s first Indigenous-led sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel (RD) platform, aligning feedstocks, land partnerships, project sites and fuel pathways to enable credible and durable SAF and RD projects in Australia.

What We’re Building

Our work focuses on building the conditions required for long-term fuel and regenerative feedstock production, ensuring projects are grounded in strong technical, commercial and social foundations before capital deployment.

Why This Matters Now

~100B
gallons of jet fuel is burned globally per year

~3%
of global COâ‚‚ emissions come from aviation

~2B
gallons of jet fuel are consumed per year in Australia

0%
domestic SAF production in Australia today

Benefits of Biofuels

Aviation and heavy transport face rising emissions and long-term dependence on liquid fuels, as Australia and the world work toward net zero by 2050.

Transport is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonise and SAF and RD offer a near-term solution using existing aircraft, engines and infrastructure.

By enabling domestic fuel production, biofuels reduce emissions while strengthening Australia’s energy security, improving supply resilience and supporting regional industries. Their role is recognised in national transition roadmaps, including work led by the CSIRO.

Our Difference

We approach energy development differently from the outset.

Rather than beginning with infrastructure, we focus on building the foundations that enable projects to succeed over decades.

What comes next

We are progressing early-stage partnerships, project concepts and pathway assessments, building deliberately and for the long term.

We welcome a yarn with partners, communities, investors and governments shaping Australia’s future fuels industry.
